Directions:
For the most benefit, prepare only enough for one meal - avoid storing. Consume immediately. Use organic foods if possible. [If the mixture must be stored in order to take it to work or on errands, place it in a small thermos and keep it in a cooler.]
[2] Grind 2 Tbs. whole flaxseeds and add. [This replaces Linomel]
Variations of this recipe:
Variation # 1- Change the fruit. As well as the blueberries and strawberries named above, Dr. Budwig used 1] blackberries, 2] grapes, 3] raspberries, 4] cherries, 5] apples, 6] peaches, 7] pineapple, 8] banana, 9] oranges, 10] red currents. Variation # 2 – Change flavorings. Besides vanilla, named above, Dr. Budwig also used 1] grape juice, 2] orange juice, 3] lemon juice, 4] ginger, 5] pure dark cocoa, 6] shredded coconut and 7] cinnamon. Mix flavors as you wish.
Variation #3 – If you prefer to avoid a sweet taste, eliminate fruit and any sweet flavors. Blend the flax oil and cottage cheese or quark and add onions, chives, parsley and lemon juice. Eat fruit at a separate time of the day. Fruit is important.
Variation #4 – If you prefer not to mix the various foods, you could place them in your bowl in layers. Grind the flax seeds, place them in the bottom of the bowl, add the fruit on top of the ground seeds. Then blend 2 Tbs. of milk, 1 tsp. of honey, flax oil and cottage cheese or quark. Layer this over the fruit. Add nuts and flavors on top.
